These funds will enable us to create a series of impactful support videos designed to empower parents and caregivers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to help their children navigate difficult experiences.

How the funds will be used

SACPP is a cornerstone of Kids First Australia’s work, providing therapeutic support to children and young people impacted by sexual abuse or harmful sexual behaviour. This new video series will:

  • Build capacity: Offer practical strategies and insights to help parents address sensitive topics with confidence.

  • Provide guidance: Share expert advice and real-life stories to support families in their healing journeys.

  • Enhance accessibility: Ensure resources are readily available to parents and caregivers when and where they need them most, including those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

By focusing on prevention and early intervention, we aim to create safer, more supportive environments for children and young people to thrive.

A community effort

This initiative wouldn’t be possible without the incredible generosity of those who attended and supported the 2024 3AW Lunchtime Rumours Feast. Thanks to your contributions, we can expand the reach and impact of SACPP, helping even more families in need.

Why this matters

The Australian Childhood Maltreatment Study found that 1 in 4 Australians have experienced child sexual abuse, with more than 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys experiencing sexual abuse in childhood. Sexual abuse has a profound and lasting impact, not only on children but on their families as well. By providing accessible resources, we can empower parents to:

  • Better understand and address the challenges their children face.

  • Foster open communication and trust within their families.

  • Build resilience and support networks to aid in recovery.

Thank you for your support

To everyone who contributed to the 2024 Lunchtime Rumours Feast, thank you for making this vital work possible. Your generosity is creating meaningful change for families across Australia.
