Your legacy, their future

A bequest to Kids First Australia is one of the most powerful ways you can make a lasting difference. No matter the size of your gift, it will go directly towards programs and services that help children thrive.

Real stories of impact

Jeremy* was eight years old when he was referred to Kids First’s Sexual Abuse Counselling and Prevention Program, after exhibiting harmful sexualised behaviours towards his younger brother. At this point, the brothers had already been removed from their parents due to neglect, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and had been placed in alternate care. When Jeremy first met his counsellor, he was aggressive and would only stay in the room for brief periods. Nearly one year on, and Jeremy enjoys seeing his counsellor. He presents without aggression and says he feels in control. His carer and teachers report he is doing better academically, and his behaviour has improved greatly. He now has his own consistent friendship group.

Everything you need to know about leaving a lasting legacy

There is no right or wrong amount. Every gift, no matter the size, helps create brighter futures for children, young people and families. Many people choose to leave a percentage of their estate, while others nominate a specific dollar amount or particular asset. The most important thing is that you first provide for your loved ones, then leave a gift that feels right for you and reflects the impact you wish to make.
