Safe & Together Champion Award for System Change goes to Monique
Kids First Australia’s Child and Family Services Manager, Monique Yeoman, has been awarded the Champion Award for Systems Change at the 5th Asia Pacific Safe & Together Conference.
27/05/22
The Safe & Together™ Model is an internationally recognised suite of tools and interventions designed to help child welfare professionals become domestic violence-informed. The award is designed for those trained in the Safe & Together Model who have gone the extra step in applying the Model concepts and tools and making efforts to implement it across multiple agencies and sectors.
Nominated by her team in Child and Family Services, special mention was made of the ‘multitude of substantial evidence’ supporting her nomination.
‘There was a bit of shock at first, as I wasn’t expecting an award. But I really appreciate being recognised like this. Working with family violence has its challenges, but it’s a very rewarding career with a supportive and connected workforce. I’m just one of many champions making a difference,’ said Award recipient, Ms Yeoman.
Over the past 18 months, Monique has applied and implemented the Model across a range of Kids First programs for families experiencing family violence, explains Kids First CEO, Aileen Ashford.
‘Monique is a highly valued member of the team at Kids First. She is dedicated to improving systems and outcomes for all members of families who are impacted by family violence. Congratulations Monique, we’re very proud of your achievements,’ says Ms Ashford.
Safe & Together™ is one of a range of tools that Kids First uses to support its work with kids and families at risk of, or experiencing family violence.
