About the Centre
Seymour Family and Children's Centre has opened for Term one, 2020 and is offering three and four-year-old kindergarten to the local community. Kids First is proud to operate the kindergarten as part of a site partnership approach between Mitchell Shire, Kids First, the Colman Foundation and Seymour College.

Indicative timetable for 2020
Four-year-old program (15 hours per week):
Monday 9.15am - 2.15pm
Tuesday 9.15am - 2.15pm
Thursday 9.15am - 2.15pm
Three-year-old program (4 hours per week):
10.15am - 2.15pm - Day to be decided. We will update this page and advise allocated day via the enrolment process.
Please note that our 3-year old program will go ahead subject to achieving minimum group numbers.
How to enrol
Kindergarten enrolments for the Seymour Family and Children’s Centre are processed by the Mitchell Shire Children’s Services Team via the Mitchell Shire website, available at Mitchell Shire Library and Customer Services Centres, or by contacting the Children’s Services team on 5734 6200.
Kindergarten fees for 2020
Four-year-old program - $395 per term
Three-year-old program - $275 per term
Please note - the Department of Education and Training provides per capita funding as a contribution towards the cost of providing a four-year-old kindergarten program. The Centre is required to charge fees to meet all additional costs incurred by the Centre in the delivery of a high-quality education and care program.
Your child may be eligible to access free 4-year-old kindergarten in any of the following circumstances:
- your child is identified by a parent, carer or legal guardian as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- your child is identified on their birth certificate as being a multiple birth (triplets or more)
- your child holds, or has a parent or guardian who holds one of the following:
- Commonwealth Health Care Card
- Commonwealth Pensioner Concession Card
- Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card or White Card
- Eligible or Asylum Seeker visa
- your child is known to Child Protection or referred to Child FIRST.
